An aspiring comedian moves to Gotham City and grapples with her gender while forming an anti-comedy troupe and combatting a fascistic caped crusader. This revolutionary DIY parody film and hilarious reimagining of the classic autobiographical coming-of-age story follows an unconfident, closeted trans girl as she moves to Gotham City to make it big as a comedian by joining the cast of UCB Live - a government-sanctioned late night sketch show in a world where comedy has been outlawed. As mainstream success eludes our heroine, leading her to unite with a ragtag team of rejects, misfits, and a certain love interest named Mister J, "Joker the Harlequin" is born again as a confident (and psychotic) joker on a collision course with the city's fascist caped crusader. Vats of feminizing chemicals, sexy cartoon interludes, scarecrow psychiatrists, CGI Lorne Michaels, and psychedelic gender dysphoria all play supporting roles. Helmed by writer/director/editor/star Vera Drew and using her own life experiences as a basis for the film, THE PEOPLE’S JOKER is a deeply personal journey that's as much documentary as it is parody.

In Las Vegas, a boy's sudden jump from a casino and a nation’s desperate attempt to dump its nuclear excess in a nearby mountain converge in this sharply cathartic portrait about factual obsession, subjective realities and talking spirits.
Grieving the suicide of a friend, L. Frances Henderson heads to Las Vegas, the suicide capitol of the nation, to seek answers. There she learns about the shocking death of a local teenager who leaped from the roof of the city's tallest casino. While investigating the suicide epidemic further, she finds that the city is also burdened by a national problem scrambling to bury decades of nuclear excess in a nearby mountain. Artfully maneuvering between two stories burgeoning with existential questions, THIS MUCH WE KNOW masterfully links these seemingly disparate subjects of self-annihilation and environmental issues into something supernatural, unforgettable, and transcendent.

Following the loss of her grandmother, Daniela, a young immigrant woman finds herself stuck in a 9 to 5 job and suffering a potent and all-consuming sort of grief. On a road trip with her younger sister, Charlie struggles to hide a secret addiction.
Charlie and Nic are headed somewhere. We’re not sure where. All we know is Charlie can’t stop sending nudes and watching porn on her phone. As the sisters go along their journey, Charlie’s need for sex intensifies and she resorts to more and more depraved behaviors to get her fix. THIRSTYGIRL is an intimate film about sisterhood and addiction, following two Asian-American women traveling across the American South. It is Alexandra Qin’s (see) first film and the proof of concept for the THIRSTYGIRL feature.
